Hip Hop: Conscious, Unconscious Poster

Our Hip Hop exhibition poster puts it pretty simply, in a verbal sense - the show subtitle in capitals surmounted by larger bold caps of the exhibition title. Dates are printed at the base of the poster, and there's graphic branding logos - both Fotografiska's and Mass Appeal's project id - stamped alongside in the right hand corner. But as minimal letter bills go there's a wealth of graphic intel locked into this design. The paper, a quality fine grained stock, shows a rich velvety nap that charges the gold printing ink with a cool lustre. Lettering, black and gold, in both positive and negative, is precise while the framing graphic device shows more loosely, a little ragged at the edges. It's both luxe and street. It's Hip Hop.
