This image transports us to the gritty 1980's era of New York City. Very familiar with the beach at Coney Island, Brooklyn-born street photographer Bruce Gilden gives us an opportunity to people-watch a slew of dynamic New York City characters on a summer day. Part of the fun of people-watching is silently observing while pondering questions we can't know the answers to for sure: "What are they thinking about?" "Isn't this person hot wearing so many clothes on a beach?" And especially, "Who is this lady pointing to and why?"
