Blue Contrast Bowl, Medium

The Contrast series from Kosta Boda, designed by Anna Ehrner, is manufactured using a technique called centrifugation. The technique, invented in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in the 1950s, creates veils of color inside the glass mass. In combination with the color powder and sticks added during the process, each piece becomes unique.

An experimental and minimalistic stylist, Anna Ehrner's work is distinguished by simple yet powerful shapes and an ability to achieve colourful displays using colour in subtle ways. Veils of colour inside the glass have become something of Anna Ehrner’s trademark, as have the lofty different coloured stalks that are characteristic of her art glass.
