Rorschach Poster

This poster image of a work from Fotografiska's exhibition, Introspective, is titled after the age-old psychological perception test, inviting the viewer to interpret the image personally. Ockenfels's highly personalized photo-images - many containing gestural hand-added graphic symbols and devices - beg for distinctly personal responses and interpretations.

Rorschach, with its distorted mirror-like imagery, is a case in point; is this figure an enchantress of wonder and promise, or a sense-disorienting messenger of ill omen? Or, perhaps, both at once? Beyond the photographed elements of a multi-reflected model, the compositional design hints at another feature - a large looming mask emerging from the misty background. Things are rarely simple or straightforward in Ockenfels's world.
